KAD (Karat Dollar) is a resource-backed digital currency issued by Kavod Technologies (Pty) Ltd. KAD is backed by a basket of physical commodities (gold, platinum, and copper) held in trust by regulated custodians including Brinks, Rand Refinery, and LME-approved warehouses. Reserve holdings are independently audited quarterly.
Kavod Technologies (Pty) Ltd, founded in 2015 and registered with the CIPC in 2022 (Company Registration No. 2022/XXXXXX/07). Karat Dollar services are provided in accordance with the South African Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) regulations. Cross-border remittance services are provided in partnership with licensed Money Transfer Operators (MTOs).
